Cathy and her girls came out this morning to help clean and tidy up. It's always so enjoyable having their help. They always do a great job and make themselves extremely useful!
Deb and Tawnee evaluated several more horses today. Here is Deb riding Sunny, a 24 year old Arab gelding that is nicely trained to ride. He is a really sweet boy, and really easy going. His adoption fee is waived due to his age. He is still healthy and has no lameness that we can tell. In the heat of the day Tawnee and Deb took a couple of the rescued horses to the river on a trailer ride, the horses really loved it and enjoyed making huge splashes in the water.
A potential adopter had a visit scheduled this evening, but never showed up. We hope they didn't get lost. All in all it was a fairly quiet day, but Tawnee got a multitude of pictures sorted through and ready for Petfinder. Our high speed internet has been on the fritz, we're hoping it works tomorrow so we can get everything uploaded. Otherwise, it'll just take longer...
As the sun set all the horses were enjoying their evening meal, relishing in the yummy hay. The horses are all very happy that the fire is not heading our way. 1000 acres and only 30% contained as of this evening. So far we have not been called out to do evacuations. It is burning in mainly uninhabited wild lands for now.
