We got an email with the subject of "Sad News." The email said: "Just wanted to let you know that we had to have River put down last week after an accident in the pasture. It was such a sad day for us. I thought I'd share her memorial album page with you. She meant a lot to us. You have the story of her adoption in your 10/17/08 blog." Here is the link - http://savethehorse.blogspot.com/2008/10/10-17-08.html

River (Promising Lady) you will be missed so much, we are glad that you had people that truely loved you.

At the rescue a truck was pulling in with a mule and an Appy inside.

We would like to welcome Annie, the Appy. She is older and is almost completely blind.

Annie's guide mule Cowa. She is an older mule with calcification in her knee.

They are two very adorable gals! Soon they were resting comfortably in their pen.

Pastor Larry signed them over. One of his friends was no longer able to keep them, so he brought them to us. He is still waiting to perform a wedding at the rescue.
We have been trying to find a home for Chance, the dog abandoned on the side of the road. Tawnee made arrangements to take him to Northwest SPCA, where people come looking for dogs, not horses.

After a short drive Chance was wondering what was happening.

He waited patiently while Tawnee gave them his information and signed him over.

Now Chance is waiting for a home at the Northwest SPCA in Oroville. If you are interested, please stop by and check him out, he is a really sweet dog!

Many thanks to Gail G. and Pamela N., for their generous donations!
