As of 10:00 pm, Saturday night the 7th, a very generous donor has offered to match, dollar for dollar, each donation that comes in for the three main fundraisers: Auction Rescue, Euthanasia Clinic and the Gelding Clinic. 1 - Auction Rescue Fund - The auction rescue fund needs to be raised by the evening of Sunday the 8th. This fund is used for the rescue and care of horses rescued from livestock auctions. The main rescue for the month is scheduled for Sunday the 8th. Each month we rescue 15-20+ horses, and give them the best possible chance to find a loving, forever home. 2 - Euthanasia Clinic Fund - This fund provides owners of horses that need to be allowed to pass on gently, with love and compassion, the opportunity to give their beloved equine pet the ultimate last gift of kindness: a peaceful death. Each month we hold a free euthanasia clinic for horses. Each horse that is brought to the clinic is evaluated by our staff and veterinarian for its condition of life and adoptability. If the equine has a good quality of life and is adoptable, we bring it into our rescue organization. This program keeps each of these animals from being sent through an auction and onto an unknown fate. Remember that your donation of love will immediately be doubled. The next euthanasia clinic is being held on the 18th, we already have more horses signed up than we have funds for, please do not make us turn them away to continue suffering, dumped at a livestock auction or be given to a killer buyer. 3 - Gelding Clinic Fund - This fund is for our low cost gelding program. With this program, we pay $125 towards the cost of gelding, and our vet offers a reduced rate, which brings the cost of gelding for the stallions owner down to $25-$75. This program is very important in preventing unwanted breeding of horses. Each stallion is easily capable of fathering hundreds of foals throughout its life, but once gelded, that "opportunity" is gone forever. To donate via Paypal, click here.
