Due the Internet not working today's blog could not be posted. Sorry! We got an email we think you may be interested in. It seem that some cowboys think it's cool to be the "Champion Donkey Roper."

Here is the email:

"Seems if you excel at this sport (or abuse), you can set up your own blog about being the "champion donkey roper." Abuse a donkey in the fastest time and you're a champion. See the two short videos also.

Check out the blog and post your comments folks! I've left mine, but likely they will be removed soon........
Please forward this email to all concerned people who care about donkeys. Let's make our statement loud and clear to this "cowboy" that his sport is abusive and disgusting.

Thank you.
Crystal"

Open Donkey Champion

Randon won 1st at the Open Donkey Roping in Mineral Wells, Texas! It was very entertaining! Jay won second and third. Dakota won third and fourth on Randon's pony, Big Six! Our crew left with all the cash! Even the banker came out to spin some on George!

Absolutely pathetic! What a big man who can rope a defenseless equine! Ruins the donkey for the rest of it's life, it's totally unable to be rehabilitated once (wannabe) cowboys have roped, electric-prodded and damaged the donkeys. SHAME ON YOU! Pathetic donkey ropers should be banned from all equine ownership and sports.

It is so sad that some people think that abusing a poor helpless animal is "very entertaining!" How sad.

Crystal asked "post your comments folks!" Lets let this guy know that this is not OK! He may just remove the comments, but it will make him think. Be the voice for these poor donkeys.

Donkeys are so intelligent and in this case I'm sure that they are simply terrified. Don't like it at all.....someone should do the same thing to these so-called tough cowboys, but then they probably don't have the intelligence to know any different!

OMG Yet, another "special" sub-human.
These guys are very hard up for entertainment or they just can't "get it hard" anymore.

Well, aren't you just the Macho Man? Participation in such cruelty is an indication of your intelligence, in other words, there is none. To subject such a gentle, trusting creature to such abuse for your hedonistic pleasure and entertainment is a sad statement for someone who claims to be a "real cowboy". Shame, shame on you.

....OK...so when you get tired of abusing defenseless animals, what's next? Gonna slap your wife around and go beat your kids? You look healthy and motivated....see if you can find something positive and constructive to do to win the praises of your "friends".

This is really one of the sickest sports I have seen. Some oakies have no respect for animals or the pain that they inflict on them. This happens also with alot of baby calves. They can break the neck quite easily. Really fun sport Moron!

.....And what about those who supply the donkeys, or the associations like the AQHA that support the event, or RFDTV for airing events like donkey roping.... This is not a "rodeo" sport. There is no reason in history for cowboys to "practice" roping donkeys like cattle. Shame on the cowboy for participating but damn the larger group of people who fund, supply, and support these events.....
